L’explosion de l’Ocean Liberty à Brest, lundi à 19h

Le 28 juillet 1947, Brest panse encore ses plaies de guerre lorsqu’un cargo norvégien, l’Ocean Liberty, prend feu dans le port. Chargé de nitrate d’ammonium, il explose à 17h25, provoquant une déflagration entendue à 50 km à la ronde.

Le drame fait une vingtaine de morts, des centaines de blessés et dévaste une ville déjà meurtrie.
